RONA to Recruit Close to 3,500 Positions Across Canada

Interview Day: March 15 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in 72 big-box stores and over 100 proximity stores Canada-wide

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 14, 2007) - Note to jobseekers: RONA Inc. ("RONA") (TSX:RON) is launching its seasonal recruitment campaign in preparation for the big renovation and gardening season ahead. Nearly 3,500 positions need to be filled in RONA's Canada-wide network of big-box stores and several proximity stores, including about 2,000 jobs in Quebec, over 300 in Ontario and close to 1,000 in Western Canada. Candidates are invited to visit some 200 stores participating in Interview Day on March 15, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

On Interview Day, candidates are invited to submit their CVs at any RONA L'entrepot, RONA Le Regional, Reno-Depot or RONA Home & Garden big-box store. Over 100 proximity stores will also participate in the process. Jobseekers can also apply online at any time to one or more RONA stores simultaneously by visiting

There are many different positions available, including sales person, cashier, customer service assistant - carry out, warehouse clerk - stocking (night), warehouse clerk - receiving (day), and manager/assistant manager. Candidates will have the opportunity to discuss available positions and job conditions with RONA teams on location.

To assist students in their academic efforts, RONA grants scholarships of up to $500 a year, provided they meet program requirements. RONA also offers flexible working hours to allow students to continue to work when they return to school in the fall.

RONA is seeking more mature workers as well, retirees or people with experience or a particular interest in building materials, tools, plumbing, electricity, interior decorating or gardening who wish to offer their knowledge and experience to consumers.
