TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2013) - On Monday, January 14, 2013, Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada (RMHC) was presented with a donation of $63,100; $44,000 from Electrolux and $19,100 from Sealy, donated from support of programs with BrandSource Canada owners and retailers. RMHC Canada is honoured to have BrandSource Canada, Electrolux Canada, Sealy Canada and Sharp Electronics of Canada as national partners, supporting Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms from coast to coast.
In the years since BrandSource Canada became a Corporate Partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities, and with the generosity of their Supplier Partners, Electrolux, Sealy and Sharp, in the form of funding and home products to the Ronald McDonald Houses, have helped to provide a supportive home away from home for over 10,000 families of seriously ill children a year. These donations will provide over 600 nights of comfort in a Ronald McDonald House.
In the past year alone, Electrolux has donated over 180 appliances to Ronald McDonald Houses throughout Canada. Electrolux's generosity and donations, which includes a wide range of new appliances, helps ensure Ronald McDonald Houses families have all the comforts of "a home away from home" during a difficult time. Their gift on Monday of $44,000 was made possible through a donation of $40 from the purchase of every Frigidaire® Dishwasher with OrbitClean™ Technology sold at BrandSource retailers across Canada.
"We're pleased to be able to provide some comfort to the 10,000 families Ronald McDonald Houses support annually. This donation will help those going through treatment have the comfort and convenience they require," said Norm MacNeil, Director of Product and Brand Development, Electrolux Canada.
Since 2011, Sealy has donated over $100,000 in donations and products to Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada and has supplied most Houses with Sealy Posturepedic mattresses. The most recent donation of $19,100 is the direct result of a donation of $50 from the sale of every RMHC-branded Sealy Posturepedic mattress in a BrandSource retailer across Canada going directly to RMHC. The partnership with BrandSource retailers and Sealy has ensured that the families staying in Ronald McDonald Houses get a good night's sleep.
Sharp Electronics has been a valued partner to Ronald McDonald House Charities since 2008. Their donations of electronics helps Ronald McDonald House families take an often much need pause and break. Their commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities provides families of critically ill children the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company with state of the art entertainment.
"The support of BrandSource, Electrolux, Sealy and Sharp continues to be an incredible partnership and gift to Ronald McDonald Houses and the families we support across Canada. Through their donations of Electrolux appliances, Sealy mattresses and Sharp electronics, we are truly able to turn our Houses into homes, and give families the comfort of sleep at a time when they need it most," said Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO & President, Cathy Loblaw.
Thanks to the generosity of BrandSource's dealers and partners, Electrolux, Sharp and Sealy, our Ronald McDonald Houses are homes for more than 10,000 families of seriously ill children staying at nearby hospitals each year!
"We are forever grateful to our friends at Electrolux, Sharp, Sealy and BrandSource for their contribution to making our families' lives a little easier during these difficult times," said Loblaw.
