HIGHLAND PARK, IL--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2013) - Evanston's hometown favorite, Rose's Bakery, which was nearly forced to close its doors Christmas Eve, announced today it will open a second location at 478 Central Avenue in Highland Park this July. Marcus Lemonis, the Lake Forest resident, entrepreneur and investor who saved Rose's from closing over the Christmas holidays, said his goal is to continue making Rose's profitable and meet the growing needs for its product.
"As the new owner and partner of Rose's, I am committed to not only keeping the business open but expanding its customer base and having a successful and profitable business," said Lemonis.
Rose's Café and Bakery is the only 100% gluten-free bakery and restaurant in the greater Chicagoland area. The café will serve pizza, soups and sandwiches in addition to providing great-tasting fresh baked breads, cookies, cakes, cupcakes and muffins. The menu will also feature a variety of vegetarian, vegan and raw options alongside many Rose's favorites. Once the new Highland Park location launches in July, it will be open for business seven days a week with extended summer hours.
Lemonis, owner of Camping World, part of Good Sam Enterprises, a $3 billion dollar business based in Lincolnshire and "the world's largest outdoor and recreational vehicle retailer," made the decision to expand Rose's Café and Bakery to Highland Park as "the need for alternative diet options exist in the area with little choices available for the community."
Lemonis will star in his own reality television series on CNBC, "The Profit," which premieres on Tuesday nights beginning July 30 at 10pm ET/PT. The new show, featuring self-made, multi-millionaire, Marcus Lemonis is the only business turnaround expert on television investing millions of his own money to save small struggling businesses and will focus on small-business turnarounds from the standpoint of a financial investor and operator. Lemonis has also appeared in several episodes of "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC and "Secret Millionaire" on ABC.
