Rossi Catches Ford Red-Handed

Mayoral Candidate Calls Out Councillor Opponent Over Metropass Flip-Flop

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2010) - Rocco Rossi slammed Councillor Rob Ford for blatantly flip-flopping on his promise to scrap all free TTC Metropasses at the CBC Radio debate earlier this evening.

Rossi confronted Councillor Ford on the issue, asking why he planned to eliminate Metropasses for blind and disabled Torontonians.

"I didn't say they were a waste," said Ford.

"You did," replied Rossi. "I've got the tapes!"

Councillor Ford, coming under increasing scrutiny recently, has begun to flip-flop with disturbing regularity.

Earlier today, Rossi blasted Councillor Ford for flip-flopping after voting for the now infamous 'driveway bylaw.'

"Councillor Ford has a pattern of not telling the truth," said Rossi. "First his driveway bylaw reversal, now his flip-flop on Metropasses along with his criminal past raise serious questions about his integrity.

"Councillor Ford has already flip-flopped twice today. What other promises will he break if he's elected?

"This election is about trust," said Rossi. "I am the only candidate who has been honest with voters and presented a credible vision for the city."

Following the debate, audience members mobbed Rossi, congratulating him on taking Councillor Ford to task.
