Rossi's Vision: A City We Can Trust

Mayoral Candidate Gets Big Applause for Honest Proposals

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 7, 2010) - Rocco Rossi challenged his opponents on their spending promises at the final Toronto Debates Toronto forum, saying that their new spending commitments were dishonest given his opponents' tax cut plans.

"I am the only candidate not trying to bribe you with your own money with impossible tax cuts," said Rossi to audience applause. "I want to get value for our money so we have money for the things we value."

Rossi also took opponent Councillor Ford to task for voting in favour of the infamous driveway bylaw without even reading it.

"Councillor Ford voted for this bill without even reading it," said Rossi. "How can we trust him to serve the people of Toronto when he doesn't read what he's voting on?"

Rossi received the loudest applause of the night for his concluding remarks in which he outlined his vision for the City.

"When all you do is count pennies all you end up with is a bunch of pennies," said Rossi. "I am running for mayor to ensure that our kids have the same opportunities that we have enjoyed. It's time to restore faith and trust in City Hall."

"This election is about trust," said Rossi following the debate. "My plan for voter recall and term limits will return power to the people of Toronto and make City Hall honest."

Over the course of past 10 days a grassroots movement has exploded across Toronto in support of Rocco Rossi.

Voters, now paying attention to the race for mayor, are realizing that they do have a choice for real change. They are realizing that they don't have to hold their noses and vote for one of the supposed two front runners but can actually vote for a candidate who has a sensible plan, a realistic plan to get our city back on track. Voters are realizing that this candidate is Rocco Rossi.
