CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2011) - The Rotary Club of Calgary North is pleased to announce their newly minted "Superus Erudio" Rotary Scholarship. This Scholarship is directed towards any student living in the North West quadrant of Calgary that has attended any Canadian High School and has been accepted in any post secondary Technical Institute, College or University anywhere in the World.

The Board of Directors of Rotary Club of Calgary North has enthusiasticlly accepted the vision of Frank Faria, Director of Vocational Services, to lead this project and has approved the funding required to select and award scholarships to three candidates.

The five finalist candidates will be selected from a group of students that have applied prior to April 30th of 2011. The three scholarships will awarded in the value of $1500.00 for first place, $1000.00 for second and $500.00 for the third place candidate.

The "Superus Erudio" Rotary Club of Calgary North Scholarship will be awarded to students that have been recognized as living their lives within the Rotary Club ethics and values guidelines. These values and guidelines are recited as the four way test among all Rotary Club Members:

The Rotary Club of Calgary North was chartered on April 27, 1961 and is a member of District 5160. Our Club currently has 75 members and meets for lunch every Monday at the Best Western Village Park Inn.

Our Club has unanimously decided that Education will be our main focus in our endeavours of Service in the world community.
