Roundbox and QUALCOMM Collaborate on Mobile Datacast Demonstration at CTIA

Datacast Infrastructure Shows Vision Beyond Mobile TV

ORLANDO, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 26, 2007 -- Roundbox, Inc., the leader in mobile broadcast software, today announced that it will showcase a datacast application in collaboration with QUALCOMM MediaFLO Technologies at CTIA Wireless 2007. The Roundbox-developed sample application, called Active Wallpaper, delivers continuous weather, news, TV teasers and sports data to a rich, graphical client and validates the power of datacasting to provide feature-rich services that afford operators bandwidth-efficient revenue opportunities. At the heart of the datacast demonstration is the Roundbox Broadcast Server and the Roundbox Broadcast Client Toolkit, both available for commercial deployment globally. This collaborative effort, which leverages Roundbox's infrastructure products with the advanced capabilities of the MediaFLO™ System, reinforces the companies' shared vision to enrich the mobile users' communications experience by moving beyond basic mobile television.

"This proof-of-concept datacast demonstration illustrates how the MediaFLO System can deliver entirely new, real-time information services, in addition to the best mobile television experience," said John Elliott, senior director of product management, QUALCOMM MediaFLO Technologies. "The demonstration combines the advantages of multicast data with the power of modern mobile devices to deliver a compelling new end user experience."

"Datacasting uses the advantages of mobile broadcast in new ways to enrich the user experience and provide operators with bandwidth-efficient revenue opportunities," said Dennis Specht, co-founder and CEO of Roundbox. "Roundbox is committed to delivering solutions to realize the full potential of mobile broadcast. Our demonstrations underscore the ways in which Roundbox delivers on that vision."

The Active Wallpaper datacasting demonstration highlights the following features:

-- Weather - Current weather conditions and forecasts
-- TV Teasers - Promotions for TV channels and one click access to the
    associated program
-- Sports Updates - Real-time game information, scores and summaries
-- Real-time Current News - News headlines and articles
"The market for mobile broadcast is poised to explode with more than 350 million customers by 2011. While mobile video service subscription revenues will be worth billions of dollars annually, innovative operators will deploy services like datacast to fully exploit the revenue potential of the technology," said Vikrant Gandhi, Senior Industry Analyst, Mobile Communications at Frost & Sullivan. "A diverse offering of broadcast services that transcend mobile TV will drive service appeal to a broad, diverse subscriber base."

This Roundbox Active Wallpaper datacast demonstration, using feeds from American data outlets, is being shown at CTIA Wireless 2007 in Orlando, Florida from March 27 - 29 in the QUALCOMM booth, # 1645.
