Route1 Wins US$25 Million Contract With the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 29, 2011) -Route1 Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROI) ("Route1" or the "Company"), a security and identity management company, today announced that it has been awarded a blanket purchase agreement by the United States Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ("FWS") subject to Route1's final execution, which is expected to occur during the upcoming week.

FWS requires removable, secure computing devices and services that will allow users to connect to their workstation desktops and applicable network resources from any internet-enabled, Windows-based computer. FWS' objective is to acquire the ability to remotely access U.S. Government systems and information in a secure environment, and to enable and promote the ability to telework.

FWS has entered into a blanket purchase agreement with Route1 for delivery of up to 10,000 users, with the longer-term goal of adding users from other components of the United States Department of the Interior. The term of the blanket purchase agreement is five years from the date of the award, with the total value of the agreement valued at US$25 million.

In April 2010, FWS commenced a pilot program with a limited number of users to evaluate Route1's security and identity management solution. Over the past 12 months, the number of FWS users under this pilot program has increased to 174 active paid users. The issuance of the blanket purchase agreement is an indication of the successful completion of FWS' pilot program and its interest in advancing to an enterprise rollout.

Upon receipt of a first purchase order from FWS, Route1 will build a DEFIMNET identity and access management service delivery platform that will reside at a hosting facility approved by the United States Department of the Interior. Route1 expects the DEFIMNET platform to be built and receive accreditation by FWS during the third quarter, at which time FWS will be able to use the platform and the associated Route1 remote access application software, TruOFFICE. FWS will be using a combination of MobiKEY Classic devices and MobiKEY Fusion devices which leverage the smart card present in the government-issued Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card.

"Being awarded the FWS agreement is an important milestone for Route1. We look forward to addressing and servicing the complex security and identity management requirements of FWS in the years to come," said Tony Busseri, President and CEO of Route1.
