RouteMatch Software Expands into Australia With Transit Technologies for Enhanced Community Transportation at 2012 Australian Community Transport Association Conference (ACTA)

TransitCare Deploys RouteMatch Software for Operational Efficiencies

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - Aug 22, 2012) - RouteMatch Software, a leading provider of end-to-end transit technology solutions for passenger and vehicle management, today announced that it is expanding into the Australia market and is also providing technologies to help optimise Brisbane-based TransitCare's operations.

RouteMatch Software currently serves more than 500 transit agencies and private providers, helping them lower costs and gain greater visibility into their transit operations and data. Its unique mix of rural, small urban, and urban client base has enabled the company to build upon more than a decade of expertise in complex coordinated transportation across varying geographies, communities and stakeholders. In early trials, TransitCare has achieved efficiencies of 16% in respect of persons transported per hour. 

With 6000 clients, and more than 210,000 "first mile and last mile" or paratransit trips conducted annually, TransitCare operates in Australia's Brisbane and Logan regions and serves as a mobility hub for neighbouring communities within Queensland for medical, social, and disability transportation. TransitCare also schedules trips directly with Yellow Cabs, Co., the largest taxi fleet operator in Queensland, bus companies and private citizens, to supplement its fleet of 42 "Community Flyer" vehicles.

Prior to partnering with RouteMatch, TransitCare used a home-grown data management system. After quadrupling its growth in the past five years, TransitCare outgrew the system. RouteMatch's technology is well-suited to accommodate and generate rapid growth. Notable value-added features that TransitCare has already gained includes using RouteMatch's advanced scheduling engine to adapt to multiple and blended trip allocation parameters and brokerage requirements, as well as robust reporting functionality which facilitates improved coordination for one call center. 

For example, RouteMatch Software has been designed to take on board bus schedules so the possibility of "First Mile Last Mile" transport where a point to point booking can be managed from pickup through to the bus station and again from the destination bus station to the drop off point can be managed seamlessly.

TransitCare is a not for profit organisation providing Community Transport for eligible clients in the Brisbane South and Logan areas. This program provides transport and associated transport support services to assist frail and/or elderly people and younger people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes, yet participate in their own community.
