Royal Family and Twenty-Five Other Balinese Dignitaries Come to San Francisco Bay Area to Support Major Exhibition Opening at S.F. Asian Art Museum

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 16, 2011) - The largest ever delegation of Balinese cultural leaders, royal family members and top musicians are arriving in Sausalito in late February to honor and recognize the opening of the largest exhibition of Balinese art ever assembled in the U.S. The 6-month exhibition will be opening at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum on February 25, 2011. Several events are planned to welcome the Balinese dignitaries, hosted by Bay Area's Bali Institute for Global Renewal based in Sausalito, California.

Included in the Balinese delegation are members of the Royal Family of Ubud, the head of the Bali Museum Association and several owners of the largest and most respected Balinese museums and galleries in Bali. In addition, several internationally-renown Balinese musicians will play for the first time in America, appearing in several local venues and events being planned in honor of their journey to the States. 

"This is the largest delegation of Balinese to ever come to the States," says Marcia Jaffe, president of Bali Institute for Global Renewal. "Bali plays a pivotal role in offering cultural knowledge that integrates ancient wisdom and post-modern global leadership. We work closely with the cultural leaders and major university in Bali designing and producing educational programs that seriously change people's lives for the better," she said. Currently there are several U.S. universities that send students to Bali under the direction of Bali Institute. 

A global dialogue with the Balinese delegation focused on the importance of cultural leadership will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in San Rafael on Friday, February 25. Also, an evening of live music featuring some of the best musicians in Bali will be held in Pt. Richmond on Saturday, February 26. Interviews with these dignitaries can be arranged during the week of Feb 21-26.
