RSI Communities Appoints John Bohnen as Chief Operating Officer

Bohnen Will Lead Expansion of Texas Operations

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - Homebuilding and Army veteran John Bohnen has been appointed chief operating officer of RSI Communities LLC, an affiliate of RSI Holding LLC. Bohnen will focus on growing the company's Texas operations and play a key role in expanding the national footprint of RSI Communities. Along with acquiring land for its own developments, RSI is partnering with developers and will build homes for first-time and move-up homebuyers, as well as single-family home rental communities. The company's unique approach to homebuilding offers high-quality, energy-efficient homes tailored to Millennials and Empty Nesters who are looking to buy their first home or downsize. The company plans to have 25 to 30 communities in Central Texas by the end of 2017 and enter the Houston and Dallas markets within the next year or two.

"John Bohnen brings a unique, and hard to find, combination of strength in leadership and experience in homebuilding to the company," said Todd Palmaer, chief executive officer of RSI Communities. "We welcome his proven success in land acquisition, particularly in Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, where he impressively grew a homebuilding division to be one of the highest performing and most profitable in the country."

Recently, RSI Communities announced its commitment to bring single-family homes to homebuyers throughout Texas and California, with future plans to expand into Arizona and Florida. Bohnen is expected to play a critical role in land acquisition initiatives, while establishing systems and processes to ensure steady, sustained growth.

RSI Communities currently has several active projects in Texas and California. Specifically, the company is developing two for-rent communities, Heritage and The Villages at Vickery Grove, in San Antonio, and one for-sale community, Legends Way at Onion Creek, in Austin. RSI Communities plans to open seven to eight more neighborhoods this year in Central Texas.

Bohnen previously served in leadership positions at Cal Atlantic Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, KB Homes and the United States Army. Most recently, he was the Austin Division President for Cal Atlantic Homes and prior to that he was the Division President for Standard Pacific Homes. He served as a Captain in the United States Army for five years after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
