RTI CEO Elected for Third Term to the Industrial Internet Consortium Steering Committee

RTI CEO Also Chairs New IIC Testbed Subcommittee to Define Testbed Program Strategy and Execution

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 30, 2016) - Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity platform company, today announced that its CEO, Stan Schneider, has been elected to the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) Steering Committee for a third term. Schneider was re-elected by vote of the membership and will serve an additional two-year term as the small-industry representative. Additionally, Schneider will chair the Steering Committee's Testbed Subcommittee, chartered to set the IIC's testbed strategy, approve new testbeds and work with the Testbed Working Group to manage testbeds. Schneider also founded the Ecosystem Task Group with the objective to monetize IIC membership in the short term, a critical goal for small company members.

Over the next two years, Schneider will work with the IIC Steering Committee to streamline the testbed program, increase small company participation and short-term return, and focus on transparency between the consortium and its members.

RTI continues to be a strong leader amongst the more than 200 companies in the world's largest IoT consortium. RTI's deep IIoT experience allows it to hold many leadership roles, including co-chairing the Connectivity Task Group, the Security Working Group, and the Distributed Data Management and Interoperability Task Group. RTI is a lead company in the Microgrid, Healthcare, Edge Intelligence testbeds, and co-chairs the Smart City Testbed program. RTI is also a principal developer of the Industrial Internet Reference Architecture (IIRA), including the imminent Security Framework and Connectivity Framework releases.

"The IIoT will create a bold new world of smart, connected systems. The IIC has the scale and momentum to drive this future," said Stan Schneider, CEO of RTI. "RTI invests in the IIC because we understand the immense opportunity as well as the challenges. I am truly honored to serve another term as the small-industry representative. Over my next term, I will remain dedicated to advancing speed, execution and transparency while increasing the opportunities for all IIC members."

"We are thrilled to have Stan Schneider continue to lead on the Steering Committee as a proven expert on the markets, players and challenges of the Industrial Internet," said Richard Soley, Executive Director of the IIC. "Small companies are critical to the success of the IIoT and with Stan's leadership we will be able to amplify the opportunities available for the IIC's small company members. It's important that we all work together and Stan's vast experience will continue to be an invaluable asset in driving our vision for the IIoT while strengthening the collective knowledge of the Steering Committee."
