RTI to Collaborate With University of South Carolina Students at National Instrument's NIDays to Showcase Connext DDS

RTI and University of South Carolina Students Will Present an Aviation Real-Time, Conditioned-Based Maintenance System to Demonstrate Increased Safety and Reduced Costs

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 14, 2014) - Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the real-time Industrial Internet of Things communications platform company, today announced it will be presenting at National Instrument's NIDays in collaboration with students from the University of South Carolina (USC). USC students will be conducting demos of a conditioned-based maintenance system developed using RTI Connext DDS.

The students will be using an IGB miniature test stand that is equipped with the ability to run at a low to medium speed (~0-200 rpm) and can be equipped with thermocouples and accelerometers. The test stand is also equipped with sensors that will allow the students to monitor sensor values using DDS applications. The system allows early detection and if something is wrong, problematic parts can undergo maintenance before they break, increasing safety as well as saving both parts and money.

NIDays is a free event and will feature the latest technology and innovations in design, control and test. Attendees will experience thought-provoking keynotes with industry experts, introductory sessions for the new user as well as advanced learning workshops, interactive technology demos, and peer-to-peer networking opportunities that can help better drive the future of attendees' organizations.
