LAKEWAY, TX--(Marketwire - Feb 27, 2012) - For the third year in a row, Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q will drop the prices on its famous quarter pound brisket to 32 cents from 2PM-4PM in celebration of Texas Independence Day on March 2nd.

Additionally, Rudy's Bar-B-Q's Follow2Support, the company's social media for social good program, will donate a dollar for every new Facebook "Like" (http://facebook.com/rudysbbq) and Twitter follower (http://twitter.com/rudysbbq) for a total of two dollars starting today through March 9th, on top of all the 32-cent payments on March 2nd, to the Texas Wildfire Relief fund (http://txwildfirerelief.org), a non-profit benefitting Texas volunteer firefighters.

In Texas, 77 percent of firefighters are volunteers with almost 86 percent of them personally funding their department's equipment needs. More than $1 million in outstanding equipment requests still exist at this time.

"The Texas Independence Day price roll back to 32 cents has become an annual tradition at Rudy's Bar-B-Q that our guests have come to expect," said Pete Bassett, VP of Operations for Rudy's Bar-B-Q. "It has also been a great opportunity to raise funds for charities. This year we are honored to assist our volunteer firefighters who played an instrumental role in combating the wildfires that blanketed Texas a few months ago."

Rudy's Bar-B-Q guests are asked to arrive early at the participating Rudy's locations if they want to avail of the 32-cent quarter pound brisket special. The limited time special of 32 cents is limited to one per guest. Participating locations can be found at: http://rudysbbq.com/page/txindependenceday.

"We are deeply grateful to be selected by Rudy's Bar-B-Q to be the recipient of its fund raising efforts on Texas Independence Day this year," said Chris Barron, Executive Director of the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association, which manages the Texas Wildfire Relief Fund. "We are happy that Rudy's recognizes the heroic efforts of our volunteer firefighters."

In the last two Texas Independence Day fundraising efforts, Rudy's raised more than $10,000 each for the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund and Texas Children's Hospital respectively.
