Run of River Comments on BC Hydro 2006 Call for Tenders

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 31, 2006) -

Run of River Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROR) ("Run of River") was notified that it was not awarded a contract in the most recent B.C. Hydro Call for Tenders. The names of those who were awarded a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) were announced at the end of last week.

B.C. Hydro is scheduled to meet with senior management of Run of River to discuss the reason(s) why the Raffuse submission was not successful. Jako Krushnisky, CEO of Run of River, commented, "We are considering several options for the sale of power from the Raffuse Creek project and while we are certainly disappointed with the decision by B.C. Hydro, we remain very optimistic about our portfolio of properties and the upcoming Call for Tenders expected in the Fall of 2006 into which we intend to submit at least 4 projects totaling over 50 MW of installed capacity."
