Run of River Power Inc.: Upper Pitt River Projects Expected to Deliver 140 MW of Power

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 17, 2006) -

Run of River Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROR) ("Run of River") is pleased to announce that it has increased the combined output projected from its Upper Pitt River Project Cluster.

Early stage designs for the 8 projects located in the Upper Pitt River watershed indicated 95 MW of rated capacity could be built which would generate approximately 400 GWh of electricity per annum. Recent hydrology data collection has allowed for the optimization of those preliminary designs such that the Corporation now expects the total rated capacity for these projects will be 140 MW. It has been further determined that two of the streams can share one powerhouse which will substantially reduce capital costs. The resulting output from the Upper Pitt River Project Cluster will generate in excess of 500 GWh of electricity per annum providing over $45 million in future revenues to the Corporation.

Jako Krushnisky, Run of River President, stated, "We are delighted with these determinations from our experienced project design team; lower capital costs and greater output will enhance rates of return to shareholders."

Run of River Power's project team is preparing comprehensive project descriptions in support of it's application for a Project Certificate under the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Act (BCEAA). The Corporation intends to submit its application to the BCEAA process in January 2007.
