VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 26, 2007) -

NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Run of River Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROR) ("Run of River") is pleased to announce that its Upper Pitt River "Project" consisting of seven proposed run of river power generation facilities to be located on tributaries to the Upper Pitt River, has been accepted for review under the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Act (BCEAA).

This review process has fixed timelines; the application screening stage (maximum 30 days) followed by the application review and assessment (maximum 180 days) will lead to the Ministers' decision on an environmental assessment certificate (maximum 45 days). Run of River anticipates that the application review stage will commence in August, 2007, with an objective to obtain an environmental assessment certificate for the Project in spring 2008.

Jako Krushnisky, CEO of Run of River Power, stated, "We are now fully engaged in a consultative process that will bring certainty to our plans for the Upper Pitt River. Further, recent hydrology results indicate an increase in total Project capacity from 140 MW to 161 MW which would provide 'Green Energy' to over 55,000 homes annually."
