Rupert Resources Ltd.: Drilling Resumes at Gold Centre

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 14, 2006) - Rupert Resources (TSX VENTURE:RUP) is pleased to announce that drilling has resumed on the Gold Centre property in Red Lake Ontario following a four week summer break.

The third daughter hole was completed prior to the break at a depth of 2,737 metres and the last 135 metres encountered Balmer Volcanic Assemblage. Assay results were not significant; however the results of this most recent drill hole have, together with previous drilling, allowed Rupert to project the north limb of the Balmer Assemblage Volcanics.

A three-dimensional analysis of Rupert's drilling to date indicates that, on a large scale, the north limb of the Balmer Volcanic Assemblage and the major structures which control the main gold production at the Goldcorp-Red Lake and Campbell complexes are likely converging to the east of the present drillhole collar location.

Rupert has started the fourth daughter hole by wedging to the east at a depth of 1,635 metres. The hole is expected to reach a final depth of about 2,600 metres.

Mr. Richard Kowalski, P.Geo is the qualified person who is supervising the drill program and has reviewed the technical information contained in this news release on behalf of the Company.

Rupert owns 100% interest in a key property in the Red Lake District located on the major structure that controls the main gold production at the Goldcorp-Red Lake and Campbell complexes.
