Russell Global Indexes: Europe Outperforms Other Regions in April 2011, Up 7.7%

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - May 2, 2011) - The Russell Europe Index (7.7%) outperformed the Russell Global Index by almost 3.6 percentage points for the month of April 2011, reflecting higher returns than other major global regions. The Russell Asia Pacific ex- Japan and Russell Developed Indexes also outperformed the Russell Global Index for the month of April, reflecting returns of 4.6% and 4.2% respectively.

Health Care (6.7%) topped the list of sector returns in the Russell Global Index for April 2011, followed by Consumer Staples (6.5%) and Consumer Discretionary (5.9%). Energy (1.7%) reflected the lowest return among sectors in the Russell Global Index for the month of April.
