Russell Global Indexes: Financial Services Sector Shows Trend Reversal From Emerging Markets to Developed Markets

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - The financial services sector in both the Russell Developed ex-U.S. Index (5.3%) and the U.S. broad-market Russell 3000® Index (1.7%) outperformed their counterpart in the Russell Emerging Markets Index (-0.5%) year-to-date through April 19, 2011.

These sector returns for calendar year 2011 reflect a reversal from one-year returns through April 19, 2011, as the financial services sector of the Russell Emerging Markets Index reflected a one-year return of 16.5%, outperforming the same sector in the Russell 3000 Index (-0.5%) and the Russell Developed ex-U.S Index (5.4%).
