Russell Latin America Index: Large Caps Outperforming Small Caps YTD

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2011) - The Russell Latin America Index has reflected a gain of 1.9% for the month through February 18, 2011, up from the loss of 4.4% the index posted in January 2011. The index, which posted a return of 20.1% for 2010, has reflected a loss of 2.6% year-to-date through February 18.

Large cap stocks (-2.3%) of the region have outperformed small cap stocks (-4.9%) for the year through February 18, 2011, reversing the trend of 2010, which saw small cap stocks (47.2%) outperform their large cap counterparts (17.5%) by nearly 30 percentage points.
