Russell U.S. Indexes: Small Caps, Value Stocks Greatly Outperform Since 2000

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 10, 2011) - U.S. small cap stocks, as represented by the U.S. small-cap Russell 2000® Index, reflected a return of 84.8% over the last decade, outperforming the U.S. large-cap Russell 1000® Index (19.9%) from December 31, 2000 to December 31, 2010.

Value stocks outperformed growth stocks since 2000 as the Russell 3000® Value Index returned 42.9%, compared to 3.1% for the Russell 3000® Growth Index. %. The U.S. broad-market Russell 3000® Index posted a gain of 23.8% over that time period.
