COSTA MESA, CA--(Marketwired - September 06, 2016) - Rutan & Tucker, LLP announced today that William F. Meehan has been elected to Managing Partner of the law firm. He succeeds Layne H. Melzer who was recently appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to a judgeship in Orange County Superior Court. Meehan, who is a partner in the firm's Orange County office, is 43 years-old and becomes the youngest firmwide Managing Partner for any AmLaw 200 law firm.

Meehan, who has been on the firm's Executive Committee since 2013, is also an accomplished partner in both the firm's Corporate and Real Estate sections. He has extensive experience in finance transactions and represents institutional lenders, finance companies, debt funds and private equity funds in a variety of both debt and equity transactions including recapitalizations, mergers, acquisitions and restructuring arrangements. In the area of real estate, Meehan handles all aspects of real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, development, joint ventures and leasing.
In the community, Meehan is on the Board of Directors of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and he is also an Orange County Trustee for Olive Crest, which provides services and homes for abused children.
Meehan received a J.D. from Boston University, School of Law and a B.A. at University of Massachusetts, at Amherst.
