Rx&D hosts workplace giving campaign supporting 16 major health charities

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 12, 2013) - HealthPartners and Canada's Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) are pleased to announce another successful private sector workplace giving campaign.

"We began our work with HealthPartners to offer our employees a chance to support the charities that affect those they love, as well as those that directly benefit from our members' research and innovation," says Russell Williams, President, Rx&D. "It is a natural fit to support non-profit organizations that help improve and save the lives of so many Canadians."

HealthPartners helps employers build healthy and engaged workplaces through employee giving, representing 16 of Canada's major health charities. It is likely that 87% of Canadians will be directly affected by one or more these chronic diseases or major illnesses in their lifetime.

"This was a fantastic experience for our employees and we have embraced it. It was so successful that Rx&D is matching employee contributions," continues Mr. Williams. "The work that HealthPartners does in the administration of the program is essential for its success and I'd like to congratulate them for their support."

"Leaders like Rx&D are collaborating to help fund our 16 charities and using innovative approaches to support critical research, educational programs and community support programs across the country," adds Eileen Dooley, National Executive Director at HealthPartners. "Their organizational commitment to match their employees' donations is a gold standard in successful workplace engagement."
