Ryder Appoints David Bouchard to Lead International Operations

MIAMI, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 31, 2007 -- Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), today announced the appointment of David Bouchard to Senior Vice President and General Manager of International Operations, reporting to Ryder Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Greg Swienton. This follows the announcement that Bobby J. Griffin, who previously led International Operations, will retire from the Company in the first quarter of 2007.

Mr. Bouchard is a 20-year veteran of Ryder, with extensive experience in strategic planning, operations and sales within the Company's Supply Chain and Fleet Management business segments. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of High Tech and Consumer Industries for Ryder's U.S. Supply Chain Solutions business segment. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Bouchard served as Vice President of Ryder's Dedicated Contract Carriage segment, where he was responsible for the operations and strategic development of this custom transportation operation.

Mr. Bouchard joined Ryder in 1987 and has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in strategic planning, operations and sales in both the Fleet Management and Supply Chain divisions of Ryder. Prior to joining Ryder, Mr. Bouchard held various positions in management and sales at Central Transport in Boston and McLean Trucking Company in New England.

Mr. Bouchard earned his MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia and bachelor of arts degree in Humanities from Providence College.
