Ryder Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend

- Company Pays Dividend for 127th Consecutive Quarter -

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - The Board of Directors of Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.23 per share of common stock, to be paid on June 13, 2008, to shareholders of record on May 19, 2008. This is Ryder's 127th consecutive quarterly cash dividend -- marking more than 31 years of dividend payments.

The Company also announced the results of its annual meeting of shareholders. L. Patrick Hassey, Lynn M. Martin and Hansel E. Tookes, II were elected by shareholders to serve on the Company's Board of Directors for a term of three years. Shareholders also approved an amendment to the Ryder System, Inc. 2005 Equity Compensation Plan and ratified the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the Company's independent auditor.
