Safeguarding Artifacts and Collections in North Vancouver

Government of Canada provides funding for North Vancouver Museum and Archives

NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 15, 2014) - Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has provided the North Vancouver Museum and Archives (NVMA) with $32,438 in funding through the Museums Assistance Program.

Funding will assist the NVMA in undertaking a collections-management project, which includes developing a comprehensive plan to pack and move the collection, as well as designing a new collection storage space. These activities are in preparation for the Museum's move to a restored building in the historic shipyards on North Vancouver's waterfront. This project will ensure long-term public access to artifacts in the Museum's collection.

The Honourable Andrew Saxton, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament (North Vancouver), announced this support today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
