Safend to Join Microsoft Network Access Protection Program

Security Firm Utilizes Program to Enhance Client Service

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 20, 2005 -- Safend, a leading endpoint security company headquartered in Tel Aviv and with offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, today announced its support of Microsoft's Network Access Protection program. Safend joins other industry leaders in working with Microsoft to deliver comprehensive solutions that protect corporate assets, control the spread of viruses and ensure policy compliance.

"We are very pleased that Microsoft recognizes the unique benefits that our products offer the corporate community," remarked Orli Gan, Safend's Vice President of Product Management. "Our technology addresses a key initiative of Network Access Protection, which is to decrease the risks that endpoints present -- including the risk of introduction of viruses and the risk of someone removing sensitive corporate data via locally attached devices. By working within the Network Access Protection technology offering, we will be able to better serve our clients while continuing to develop new security-conscious applications."

Microsoft's Network Access Protection is a comprehensive platform infrastructure that allows system administrators to monitor and control computer access to corporate networks based on compliance to health policy as well as update non-compliant computers.

"Safend's product offerings address one of the goals of Network Access Protection which is the reduction of virus infiltration on corporate networks at the port level," said Steve Anderson, senior director of marketing, Windows Server Division, Microsoft. "Safend's specialization in endpoint protection allows a company to leave its communication and storage options open while keeping its assets protected."

Safend's USB Port Protector shields desktops and laptops by monitoring and controlling connections to USB devices, such as disks on key, MP3 players, and PDAs. Safend's newest product, Safend Protector, will extend USB Port Protector's innovative endpoint security to all possible local-access interfaces, including physical ports (USB, FireWire, etc.), wireless ports (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.), and removable media (CD/DVD, flash drives, zip drives, etc.). Safend's USB Auditor assesses endpoint vulnerabilities by cataloging detailed information regarding all devices connected to enterprise PCs. Safend's products complement network security by providing comprehensive security policy enforcement while still allowing the use of modern communication and data storage technologies.
