CO-REC was formed to assist healthcare providers adopt EHRs and achieve meaningful use. The Office of the National Coordinator tasked RECs with helping physicians adopt EHR systems and qualify for the financial incentives that come with achieving meaningful use standards.

CO-REC is an initiative of six organizations led by the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO). As a preferred CO-REC vendor, Sage products met a series of rigorous technical and cost criteria during the REC's selection process. CO-REC also incorporated federal standards into the selection process and went beyond them to develop requirements specifically focused on Colorado providers' needs.

"Sage continues to align with physicians as they adopt EHRs, and we support the mission of the RECs throughout the country in their efforts to help physicians do so," said Ken Ernsting, Vice President of Business Development for Sage Healthcare Division. "Sage's commitment to Colorado physicians is re-affirmed through this partnership with CO-REC as we work along side physicians to meet their practice's goals as they navigate the new and continually evolving healthcare economy."
