Sage Communications Extends National Family Caregivers Association's Reach With Google Grant

Non-Profit Organization Sees 25 Percent Increase in Web Traffic, Bolsters Online Advertising Presence With Power of Google AdWords

VIENNA, VA--(Marketwire - February 17, 2009) - Sage Communications, one of the fastest growing full-service marketing communications firms in Greater Washington D.C. specializing in the technology, government and healthcare markets, today announced that it secured a Google Grants award for the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA). The in-kind advertising grant allows the NFCA to use the power of the Internet to inform, engage and connect with the more than 60 million individuals who care for elderly, disabled or infirmed friends, relatives or loved ones.

The Google Grants program is a unique branch within Google AdWords designed specifically to help 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations raise awareness of their causes and increase traffic to their Web sites by providing free AdWords advertising on Google.com. NFCA's ads are displayed when users perform online search queries for relevant keywords, and when individuals click on the ad, they are automatically taken to NFCA's homepage.

The Google grant elevates visibility and awareness of the NFCA as a resource for hundreds of thousands of family caregivers that can help lessen others' isolation, develop their skills for finding help, advocate for themselves and their loved ones in healthcare settings, and understand the complex family dynamics that caregiving imposes.

In the 12 months since receiving the grant, the NFCA Web site received an average of 120,000 visitors and about 229,500 page views monthly, up from 79,000 visitors and 142,000 page views prior to the grant. The site saw a 150 percent increase in visitors and a 190 percent increase in page views. Traffic on the site was the highest in October 2008 when it received 158,000 visitors and 305,500 page views, doubling its average visitors and page views since 2007.
