Sage Healthcare Division Named as Vendor Partner of Kansas Foundation for Medical Care Regional Extension Center

Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition Software Will Help More Kansas Physicians Meet Their Practice's Goals in the Continually Evolving Healthcare Economy

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - March 15, 2011) - Sage Healthcare Division, a unit of Sage North America and a major provider of electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software and services, announced today that it has been selected as vendor partner of the Regional Extension Center (REC) of the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care.

Sage Healthcare Division was selected as partner of the REC after a lengthy vetting process conducted by a 12-member committee including physicians and stakeholders from Kansas. Michael Aldridge, director of the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care said, "We established this committee with three simple goals: simplify the selection process of an EHR vendor, negotiate favorable pricing and negotiate favorable, standardized contractual terms."

According to Kansas Foundation for Medical Care, agreements have been established with vendors that offer products to meet the minimum test of functionality, have been certified as being capable of satisfying Stage I Meaningful Use criteria, and offer a comprehensive set of support services to both the Regional Extension Center and contracting healthcare providers.

Sage will make the ONC-ATCB certified Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition available to the REC's physician members. Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition, a certified meaningful use software solution, is a clinical, financial and administrative solution that empowers physicians to advance the quality and efficiency of care they deliver. The Sage Intergy family of products includes integrated electronic health records, practice management, clinical and business intelligence and a Web-based portal for online patient engagement. Providers can access Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition from multiple locations either through a central patient database server or as a Sage-hosted solution on a monthly subscription basis.

"Having spent a year working through this process of selecting EHR vendors, we are confident that the information provided will be an excellent resource to providers in Kansas, not only saving precious hours of time, but also saving them dollars," committee member Dr. Jen Brull said.

Sage Healthcare Division, a major provider of EHR and practice management software and solutions, serves more than 400,000 healthcare professionals including 80,000 physicians in North America.

"Sage recognizes the important role REC's play in assisting providers with EHR systems to help improve quality of care and practice efficiency. We appreciate the rigorous process that the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care has undertaken to ensure they are suggesting solid EHR alternatives to their provider members," said Ken Ernsting, vice president of business development for Sage Healthcare Division. "We are delighted to be a part of that process and pleased to add KFMC to the long list of Regional Extension Centers with whom we are working."
