Sage Selected by Florida Medical Association to Assist Physicians in Achieving Meaningful Use

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - January 14, 2011) - Sage Healthcare Division, a unit of Sage North America, announced today that it will participate in the Florida Medical Association's new series of workshops in nine Florida cities to help physicians achieve meaningful use compliance. Sage Healthcare Division is a major provider of electronic health records and practice management software and solutions, serving approximately 80,000 physicians in North America.

According to the Florida Medical Association, 18 workshops, scheduled from January through April 2011, will be offered to guide doctors through the process of choosing, implementing and upgrading an EHR system to meet their practice needs. Physicians will have an opportunity to test Sage Intergy EHR.

Sage Intergy EHR, a certified meaningful use software solution, is a comprehensive clinical, financial and administrative solution that empowers physicians to advance the quality and efficiency of care they deliver. The Sage Intergy family of products includes integrated practice management, electronic health records, clinical and business intelligence and a Web-based portal for online patient engagement. Providers can access Sage Intergy EHR from multiple practice locations, from home or other remote locations either through a central patient database server, or as a Sage-hosted solution on a monthly subscription basis.

Sage Intergy EHR easily tracks the details of a patient's clinical history, shares and manages clinical information and combines complex medical practice functions into easy-to-navigate menus. Sage Intergy features centralized financial operations including billing, reporting, task management, and fully integrates with EDI services, Sage Intergy Practice Portal, Sage Intergy RIS and Sage Practice Analytics.

"Florida Medical Association's designation of Sage as a top-tier EHR vendor continues to verify our commitment of supporting physicians wanting to achieve meaningful use," said Ken Ernsting, Vice President of Business Development for Sage Healthcare Division. "Providing insight and guidance to physicians through these workshops enables Sage to support Florida Medical Association's goals and provides another opportunity to prove that our physician-focused, patient-centric approach to technology meets and exceeds MU certification requirements."

The Florida Medical Association's EHR workshops, which are also open to practice administrators and office personnel, will provide:

  • Best practices for choosing, implementing and upgrading an EHR system to meet meaningful use

  • Guidance on meeting the new federal health care law's definition of meaningful use to receive incentives up to $64,000 per provider

  • Information on the EHR products that consistently receive top ratings from industry analysts, state medical associations and the FMA

  • Free EHR selection and implementation planning toolkits for FMA members

  • Certified Medical Education (CME) credit
