Sage Software Introduces Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2006

One of Two New Industry-Specific Versions of Peachtree Premium Accounting; Now Available for Small Nonprofit Organizations With Tools to Help Them Focus on Fulfilling Their Missions

ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 13, 2005 -- Sage Software today announced the general availability of its new industry-specific software, Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Nonprofits. To better meet the special accounting requirements of small nonprofit organizations, Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits is designed to offer easy start-up, along with sample charts of accounts, reports and financial statements.

"Small nonprofit organizations have long preferred Peachtree through the years because of its solid accounting, strong reporting features and cost effectiveness," said Jim Portner, vice president of product management, Sage Software. "Now we can offer these organizations an accounting program more appropriately focused to the way they work, because we've added specific features to assist in their daily tasks."

Generally dependant upon volunteers, small nonprofits in many cases do not have accounting expertise or dedicated accounting staff, but Peachtree offers full accounting functionality along with the in-depth reporting, security and general ease of use small organizations seek.

In addition to the core features available in the Peachtree 2006 Accounting line, Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2006 includes:

-- Unified Chart of Accounts to allow for the quick and reliable
translation of financial statements into categories required by the IRS
    Form 990.
-- United Way-based chart of accounts, which complies with the United Way
accepted range of account numbers for the reports they require.
-- Industry Specific Financial Statements, such as Statement of Revenues
and Expenditures, Budgeted Statement of Revenues and Expenditures and a
Statement of Financial Position to make it easy for nonprofits to
demonstrate sound financial management, even when multiple funds and
    encumbrances are involved.

Peachtree Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2006 debuts as part of the Peachtree Accounting 2006 line, which also includes industry-specific products for construction, distribution, manufacturing, and accountants in addition to the general accounting editions of the award-winning Peachtree products.
