Sage Software Introduces Two New Tools to Streamline Accountants' Workpaper Management and Add More Reporting Flexibility

New CPAWorkpaper Manager Makes Work Papers Electronically Accessible; New Report Writer Enhances Reporting Flexibility in the CPAAccounting Manager Product Line

PENSACOLA, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 31, 2005 -- Sage Software today announced two new tools to assist accountants in efficient firm management: the new CPAWorkpaper Manager, an electronic document management system for use with CPAClient Write-Up, and the new Accounting Report Writer, for use with CPAClient Write-Up and CPAPayroll.

With CPAWorkpaper Manager, public accountants can improve their firms' processes by electronically storing all documents related to a working trial balance in one secure container. CPAWorkpaper Manager conveniently launches from the activities menu in CPAClient Write-Up, neatly organizing and storing client work paper documentation in an easily accessible centralized location. CPAWorkpaper Manager lists all engagements, with default folders for Assets, Liabilities, Equity and Income Statement, displayed in a tri-panel window. Accountants can effortlessly move documents within an engagement with a simple drag and drop utility, can insert new documents into existing files, including scanned documents in PDF format, and can create new MS-Word documents and MS-Excel spreadsheets with version numbers for easy tracking. For added security, accountants can ensure accuracy and preserve integrity by signing off on completed documentation.

To further simplify document management, CPAWorkpaper Manager includes a Trial Balance View option, which brings together the end-of-the-period information needed in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and adjusting and closing entries. Accountants can drill down to see detailed transactions and enter adjustments just by double-clicking on any debit or credit cell on the grid. Notes and customizable tickmarks allow preparers to electronically communicate to reviewers and easily sign off on completed documents to ensure accuracy and preserve integrity. All entries are done in real time mode and are posted into CPAClient Write-Up as soon as the 'save' button is clicked.

For customized reporting, CPASoftware now offers the Accounting Report Writer, an add-on tool completely integrated with CPAAccounting Manager. With Accounting Report Writer, accountants can tailor the format of reports available in CPAClient Write-Up and CPAPayroll, to meet a firm's specific needs. Accounting Report Writer is powered by Crystal Reports® enabling users to export and print reports in a broad array of formats including PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and XML. They can also export directly to CPADocument Manager.
