Sage Software Named a Hottest Company of the Year for Second Straight Year

Award Latest in Recent Editorial Acclaim for Sage Software and Its Construction and Real Estate Division, Including Sage Timberline Office and Sage Master Builder products

BEAVERTON, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 6, 2006 -- Sage Software announced today that it has received Constructech magazine's Hottest Companies of the Year Award a second consecutive year for its innovative technology, showcasing the company's Sage Timberline Office and Sage Master Builder business management solutions for the construction industry.

Constructech's Hottest Companies Awards identify the technology, building automation, and automated home technology providers that are making the biggest impact within the construction marketplace. The editors of Constructech magazine judge entries based on a range of criteria, including description of product/service, significant accomplishments in the past year, growth record for the past three years, noteworthy customer wins, and new products.

"This award is great news, but the real winners are our clients who truly benefit from the innovative technology Sage Software and our development partners provide," said John Geffel, Sage Software senior vice president and general manager, Construction and Real Estate division.

People's First Properties, Inc., located in Brandon, Fla., credits Sage Timberline Office with cutting their payroll processing time in half; reducing spending on mailing by nearly $40,000 per year, and holding growth of administrative staff to 10% while doubling overall staff to support the company's growth. Since 1983, the holding company has grown to include People's First Bank Community Bank with 33 bank branches, Royal American Construction, Royal American Management, and Royal American Hospitality.

"We rely on the software to manage more than 42,000 accounts, which range from the individual property level on up to the corporate office," said Ed Livingston, People's First Properties vice president of accounting. "We use it to perform intricate consolidations, send financial information to hundreds of lenders and investors and to do job costing and project management with its modules."

The Constructech Hottest Companies Award is the latest in a recent string of awards and recognition bestowed upon Sage Software for its products and services provided to the construction and real estate industries.

CPA Magazine just chose Sage Timberline Office and Sage Master Builder, as two of their Top 5 Construction software programs, as published in their June/July 2006 issue.

In the April/May 2006 issue, The CPA Technology Advisor awarded Sage Timberline Office a coveted 5-star overall ranking in their annual review of accounting and business management software designed for the construction industry. Sage Timberline Office scored perfect marks in all six review categories: learning curve, modules and functionality, import/export integration, support and training, reporting and relative value.

"This is an ideal product for construction and contracting companies who desire excellent integration, modular flexibility and top-notch job and equipment costing features," wrote reviewer Mary Girsch-Bock.
