Sage Software Promotes Karl Grass to Senior Vice President and General Manager for Specialized Business Solutions

Grass Assumes Leadership Role for Sage Abra HRMS, Sage FAS Fixed Assets, Sage Payroll Services, and Sage TimeSheet, Plus Additional Products/Services

ST PETERSBURG, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 22, 2006 -- Sage Software today announced the promotion of Karl Grass to senior vice president and general manager for its Specialized Business Solutions unit, reporting to Jim Foster, executive vice president and general manager for Mid-Market Business Units. Grass previously served as vice president and general manager for the company's Sage Abra HRMS and Sage Payroll Services businesses, part of Specialized Business Solutions. In his new role, he is responsible for strategic, operational, and technology planning for Sage Software's specialized products and services, which include Sage FAS Fixed Assets, Sage TimeSheet, Sage Carpe Diem, and Sage Active Planner, in addition to Sage Abra HRMS and Sage Payroll Services, which includes the Sage Compliance Services solutions.

Before joining Sage Software in February 2006, Grass was vice president and general manager of Intuit's Professional Tax Group in Dallas, and prior to that, he was a partner at Arthur Andersen, serving in a general manager role for Andersen Technology Enterprises, the company's packaged software business, in Sarasota, Fla. In 2004, he was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today magazine.

Grass holds a bachelor of arts in accounting from Duke University in Durham, N.C. He will continue to work out of Sage Software's St. Petersburg, Fla., office, where several Specialized Business Solutions teams are located.
