Sage Software Ships Updated Sage MIP Fund Accounting Software

Newly Configured Product Features Increased Flexibility and Technology Options, Default Finance Statements, a Form 990 Worksheet, and Much More

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 12, 2005 -- Sage Software today announced general availability of Sage MIP Fund Accounting v7.0, the latest version of its award-winning accounting software for nonprofit financial management. The updated product features many feature enhancements and ease-of-use improvements, including new default financial statements, a Form 990 worksheet, Allocations improvements, and significant Payroll enhancements. In addition, Sage MIP Fund Accounting v7.0 consolidates the previous versions for small, medium and large organizations into a single more flexible offering, eliminating upgrade fees and technical barriers for growth between each product.

"Our customers asked for a simpler way of managing upgrades as their organizational needs grow, and version 7 provides a direct response," said Marc Griffin, SVP and general manager of Nonprofit Solutions at Sage Software. "This new product configuration provides all users of Sage MIP Fund Accounting with additional technical and feature options, as well as a more affordable growth path. We have removed product-based seat and module restrictions to provide more flexibility for all nonprofits. With the new configuration, every customer has access to all the seats they want, and the complete module set, with no additional upgrade costs."

Said Connie Miller, senior accountant for Southwest Center, a St. George, Utah-based provider of comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services, and Sage Software customer since 2002, "With recent growth, we were soon going to need an upgrade for our Sage MIP Fund Accounting product. The new product configuration gives us the freedom to grow without upgrading products and without fees. In addition, the new workflow navigator built into the latest version of Sage MIP Fund Accounting will make processing payroll even easier, and the new payroll reports will help our management and department heads stay on top of costs."

Jeff Steinberg, NY Metro sales manager at JMT Consulting Group, a Sage Software business partner since 1991, believes "the new Sage MIP Fund Accounting product configurations will dramatically improve prospect and client understanding of its capabilities."

He adds, "The new pricing schema will allow more organizations to benefit from the product and manage their budgets much more predictably, because instead of purchasing a system with upgrade fees they 'grow into' as their needs evolve, the product now offers real scalability, allowing each customer to build the solution that most suits their current requirements today, and grow it only as their specific functionality and user needs change, without upgrade fees."

With v7.0, Sage Software is also introducing a new Single User Edition, a fully functional one-seat offering of Sage MIP Fund Accounting with a core set of 7 modules available for a significant price reduction. The Single User Edition and its special pricing are designed to enable nonprofits currently struggling with off-the-shelf commercial accounting software to access the real fund accounting functionality nonprofits need.

New Features

Using the new default financial statements built into the Sage MIP Fund Accounting report writer, customers can customize and produce presentation-ready, FASB-compliant financial reports without any additional configuration steps. Additional report writer enhancements include Standard Base Variance Columns, automatic Variance column generation, the ability to view the affect of unposted transactions on Statement of Revenue and Expenditures prior to posting, and a new Expand/Collapse toolbar.

The new Form 990 worksheet enables users to easily set-up, map, and produce IRS-compliant worksheets, reducing their time and compliance costs. Other enhancements built into Sage MIP Fund Accounting v7.0 include:

-- Allocations improvements, such as Multi-Segment Allocation Capability,
    additional Allocation calculation methods and improved Allocation
    processing;
