Sales Milestone for Volkswagen Canada

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 3, 2013) - Volkswagen Canada has rung in the New Year with an all-time record. December sales of 3,777 new cars and light trucks represent the best ever result for the month and were 6% higher than during the same period last year (3,565). Year-to-date, the total of 59,132 firmly established 2012 as the single best sales year for the company and outpaced the previous record (52,604) by over 12%. These figures were double the growth of the industry as a whole. Volkswagen has been in Canada since 1952.

Volkswagen remains the market leader in fuel-saving TDI Clean Diesel technology. These engines are now available in the Passat, Jetta, Beetle, Golf, Golf Wagon, and Touareg models. The Jetta also features an optional turbocharged hybrid powertrain, combining the fun-to-drive character of all Volkswagens with the energy conservation of a hybrid.
