Sales Open on Luxury Upper West Side Condominiums at 101 West 87th Street

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Feb 4, 2013) - In a housing market with fewer condos available in Manhattan than ever before, finding a home on the Upper West Side can be a challenge, making the 62 newly renovated units at 101 West 87th Street a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The building was purchased in 2010 and developed as a joint venture with Bazbaz Development, with architecture by SLCE Architects. A soft sales launch for the building, which contains a number of family-sized units, began earlier this month.

Located just one block from Central Park, 101 West 87's distinctive red brick, bronze accents, and bay windows are the first hints of the premium finishes and features awaiting future residents of these luxury Upper West Side apartments. In addition to a full-time doorman/concierge and a live-in superintendent, the building's amenities also include a fitness center, a landscaped rooftop terrace, and a children's playroom.

Made up of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedrooms (and a five-bedroom penthouse), unit sizes range from 650 to 3,000 square feet. Inside, apartments feature ample natural light through new energy-efficient windows, LG washers and dryers, modern kitchens fitted with white oak cabinetry and quartz countertops, as well as marble bathrooms.

Unlike other apartments for sale on the Upper West Side, which can cost upwards of $2,000 per square foot, units in 101 West 87th Street are priced significantly lower, with an average price per square foot around $1,450. Though still under construction, the building has already had over 1,000 inquiries and signed contracts on 28 units from the soft launch as of January 31st, 2013. A full sales launch will begin closer to spring when the three bedroom sales model will be completed. Occupancy is expected to begin in the summer of 2013.
