SIOUX FALLS, SD--(Marketwired - September 01, 2016) - Sammons Financial Group has donated $150,000 to the Great Plains Education Foundation Inc., a South Dakota-based Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), which provides private school scholarships to students K-12 who meet income and grade requirements.
"It is a privilege for us to play a role in the education of the children who are recipients of these scholarships," said Rob TeKolste, CLU, LLIF, Sammons Financial Group's President of Shared Services. "These kids are our future, and these scholarships give many families the opportunity to choose the school that best fits their needs."
Great Plains Education Foundation Inc. is officially registered with the Division of Insurance as an SGO. This allows them to solicit and accept educational contributions from insurance companies licensed to operate in South Dakota. The program provides tax credits to insurance companies who donate to an SGO, which then provides private school scholarships to students K-12. South Dakota is the 17th state to offer a tax credit scholarship program.
