According to the American Community Survey of the U.S. Census Bureau, the South Asian population in the United States grew 53% from 2000-2007 -- the highest growth rate for any Asian American community, and among the fastest growing ethnic groups in the United States. This demographic tends to be highly educated and affluent:

  • More than 87% of South Asians in America have completed high school
  • At least 62% have some college education
  • More than 58% of them over the age of 25 hold a bachelor's degree or higher
