Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center Endorses Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C., The Biggest Little Law Firm(R) in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - April 4, 2011) - Samuel U. Rodgers, a leader in primary and preventive healthcare in Kansas City, announces an expansion of its facilities.

Hilda Fuentes, CEO of the Health Center, said that Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C. has been instrumental in the expansion. "Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center has a 40 year history with Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C., in particular, Bob Beachy, president of the law firm. The attorneys at Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C. are always available to us. They are clear and direct communicators and always take the time to make sure we understand what they are advising. Overall, they have a tremendous amount of depth, no matter the issue. They are extremely competent in the work that they do. Their expertise and advice is helping our expansion run smoothly," said Fuentes. Beachy confirms that Rogers Health Center has been one of the firm's oldest and most valued clients. He says, "We formed the Center in 1968 and it has been my pleasure to work with and learn from them since 1973. They are a vital Safety Net Provider for the city."

Fuentes added that the expansion is a big project but she knows the outcome will be outstanding for the organization and community. "Dr. Rodgers' federally qualified health center was the first in Kansas City and the fourth in the nation. We take a lot of pride in our history. However, the building is showing its age and cannot fit anymore providers, staff or patients. This facility treats more than 18,000 patients a year, so the ability to serve more patients is what is driving our expansion. After the expansion, we will be able to house 7,500 more patients and will be expanding in all areas to include women's health, pediatrics, dental services, behavioral health and adult medicine," said Fuentes.

Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center serves a culturally diverse patient population and is located east of downtown Kansas City in the historic Northeast district. The Health Center provides access to healthcare for all who seek care, including neighborhood residents, people living in nearby public housing developments and immigrants seeking political asylum from war-torn nations.
