San Carlos Dentist Donates Free Dental Services

SAN CARLOS, CA--(Marketwired - April 21, 2015) - Dr. Ghina Morad, a top San Carlos dentist, recently teamed up with search-engine giant Google and a national nonprofit to provide free dentistry services to people with criminal histories looking to start their own businesses.

Defy Ventures is a nonprofit organization that provides business opportunities to people with a criminal history through training and education. In March, Defy Ventures selected 15 clients to pitch their business ideas at the Google campus in front of an audience of technology moguls and entrepreneurs. Google awarded the top three finalists a grant, while Dr. Morad offered free dentistry services to the top three finalists.

Dr. Morad, who has operated her own practice for more than 10 years, said the free dentistry services were not unveiled until after the winners were announced. Dr. Morad said cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and orthodontics have the power to improve people's overall quality of life and open up new business opportunities.

"By helping these winners with their dental health and smile, I can help them with their confidence, a necessity to restarting their life in a positive way," the San Carlos dentist said. "It's very exciting to be able to give somebody the confidence and the image that they need to feel good and start out on the right foot."

Dr. Morad purchased her practice, Dr. Morad Family & Orthodontic Dentistry, in 2003. She offers preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and TMJ treatment. Her individual services include cleanings, dental sealants, metal-free fillings, onlays, crowns, bridges, teeth-whitening treatment, veneers, root canals, implant restoration, traditional braces, Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Dr. Morad offers both headgear splints and Botox treatment for patients with TMD. The Botox injections are used to relieve jaw tension that causes joint issues.

Dr. Morad graduated first in her class from Boston University, earning membership into the prestigious Dental Honor Society. She began practicing dentistry in 1996 and worked in the Bay Area before starting her own practice. She also taught as a clinical instructor at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She has completed courses in veneer design and preparation, orthodontics, digital smile design and advanced specialized dental-facial orthodontics.

Dr. Morad uses digital X-rays for instant results and clearer images, digital intra-oral cameras, and the DIAGNOdent laser-cavity detector. She also provides oral conscious sedation.

Dr. Morad is a member of national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was nominated for the Best of the Bay and featured on Top Doc, a segment on "The Dr. Oz Show."
