San Carlos Dentist Offers Services to Reformed Inmates

SAN CARLOS, CA--(Marketwired - May 29, 2015) - Dr. Ghina Morad, a top San Carlos family dentist, has begun working with a national nonprofit that provides business support to convicts.

Last month Dr. Morad teamed up with Defy Ventures, a nonprofit that provides support for entrepreneurs who have a criminal history. As part of the partnership, Dr. Morad offered free dentistry services to three entrepreneurs who pitched their business ideas recently at the Google campus in front of technology giants, investors and successful business owners.

The free dentistry services cover any type of dental treatment, including preventative, restorative, cosmetic and orthodontics.

"A good smile is an important part of being a confident and successful business owner," Dr. Morad said. "By offering comprehensive dental services, hopefully my office can play a role in helping these three new business owners start their new life out on the right foot."

Dr. Morad, who has been a San Carlos dentist for more than 10 years, said one of the entrepreneurs needed a total smile reconstruction after not having had dental care for about 10 years.

"So many people think it’s impossible to get their smile back after a few years of neglect, but we offer comprehensive services that can correct any number of issues," Dr. Morad said. "I'm eager to see the transformation from this person being shy and reserved to bubbly and outgoing."

Dr. Morad purchased her practice in 2003. She offers preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and TMJ treatment. Her individual services include cleanings, dental sealants, metal-free fillings, onlays, crowns, bridges, teeth-whitening treatment, veneers, root canals, implant restoration, traditional braces, Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Dr. Morad offers both headgear splints and Botox treatment for patients with TMD. The Botox injections are used to relieve jaw tension that causes joint issues.

Dr. Morad graduated first in her class from Boston University, earning membership into the prestigious Dental Honor Society. She began practicing dentistry in 1996 and worked in the Bay Area before starting her own practice. She also taught as a clinical instructor at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She has completed courses in veneer design and preparation, orthodontics, digital smile design and advanced specialized dental-facial orthodontics.

Dr. Morad uses digital X-rays for instant results and clearer images, digital intraoral cameras, and the DIAGNOdent laser-cavity detector. She also provides oral conscious sedation.

Dr. Morad is a member of national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was nominated for the Best of the Bay and featured on Top Doc, a segment on "The Dr. Oz Show."
