San Clemente Volleyball Club Prepares to Take Its Game to the Next Level at Its New Home: the Ladera Sports Center

New State-of-the-Art Facility Will Give Teams Stability and Technological Edge

LADERA RANCH, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2015) - San Clemente Volleyball Club (SCVC) announced today it has signed an agreement making the Ladera Sports Center (LSC) home for all its teams. The $35 million solar-powered facility in Ladera Ranch, Calif. is expected to open by summer 2016. The 120,000-square-foot mixed-use complex will include LSC -- a 63,400-square-foot gymnasium with 48,750 square feet of court spaces which will offer noise decibel reduction systems, superior wood flooring and ceiling-mounted volleyball nets with ample spectator seats per court. The complex will also include a private fitness center, 230 self-storage units and 15,000+ square feet of office space for SmartStop Asset Management, Inc., whose CEO H. Michael Schwartz designed, financed and is developing the facility.

The San Clemente Volleyball Club, founded in 2009 by collegiate All-American Tom Beard, is dedicated to providing the highest level of coaching and training possible to prepare volleyball players to reach their fullest potential. Serving both boys and girls ages 10 to 18 years old, SCVC has already produced collegiate athletes, a top-ranked girls team, a national bronze medalist boys team and a national runner-up boys team that brought home a silver medal and three All-American honors.

Beard is enthusiastic about the opportunity the new state-of-the-art gym will afford his teams.

"Parents and players alike will enjoy one of the most technologically advanced sports facilities in California," Beard said. "With eight volleyball courts, study rooms and a café serving healthy snacks and meals, we will now have plenty of space and won't be subject to the unpredictability of facility availability."

Parents will be able to watch matches on their mobile phones, tablets or computers when they can't attend in person via an online video streaming feature built into every court. Each court will also have a 90-inch TV and plenty of seating to accommodate spectators. It will be the only private youth facility in Orange County with a fully air-conditioned gym.

The ceiling-mounted volleyball netting systems is amazing as the club won't have to set up and break down volleyball poles and nets anymore," said LSC CEO Steve Williams. "We will simply push a button and the system will be ready for play."

The Ladera Sports Center is being built on approximately four acres at 2 Terrace Road near the intersection of Crown Valley Parkway and Antonio Parkway in Ladera Ranch. Located close to the 241 Toll Road and I-5 freeway, it will be within walking distance of local restaurants and stores. In addition, the facility will have approximately 300 parking spaces under and around the building with active security cameras and several electric vehicle-charging stations.

"We're building one of the best sports facilities in the country to give athletes, and their families, a great training experience," said Schwartz. "We knew that by building the best facility, we would attract the best teams. We welcome SCVC to their new home!"

"The LSC facility will allow our program to be under one roof," said SCVC girls director Jen Beard. "We no longer have to bounce back and forth between schools. We'll have the stability we need to be the best program in south Orange County, with the same practice times on the same court all year without interruption. We have always dreamed of taking our program to the next level, and now with all the amenities like recorded and streaming games and practices we can take our training and practices up another notch."
