Daniel Gilleon is a San Diego employment lawyer who represents clients who have been wronged by way of different forms of discrimination. These forms of discrimination include those based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality and race. Mr. Gilleon hereby reports that he recently appeared on a San Diego Channel 10 News broadcast to provide his perspective with regards to an ongoing lawsuit he filed on behalf of his client that alleges racial discrimination by San Diego Gas and Electric, his client's former employer.

Mr. Gilleon appeared on the broadcast on October 10, 2012 and he provided statements with regards to the allegation that his client, Bilal Abdullah, was terminated from his position with San Diego Gas and Electric because he complained about the treatment of minorities in the workplace. This alleged mistreatment included nooses being placed in the back of work trucks and racially offensive photos being attached to the walls of the break room. San Diego Gas and Electric has responded through a statement that Mr. Abdullah was terminated for a safety violation, an allegation that Mr. Abdullah denies.

Mr. Gilleon appeared on the broadcast and provided the following statement as a response to a question asked by the Channel 10 reporter: "Despite the fact that SDG&E says they don't tolerate this, the bottom line is that they do." In an accompanying story that appeared on Channel 10 San Diego's Web site, Mr. Gilleon was also quoted as saying that, "What we're saying to the jury is when Abdullah complained about it, he got fired."

The news broadcast went on to state that the trial regarding this alleged racial discrimination by San Diego Gas and Electric is scheduled to begin on October 19. San Diego Gas and Electric has denied the allegations publicly and issued a statement noting that its parent company, Sempra Energy, was cited by Black Enterprise as a positive workplace in 2008.
