San Diego Facial Plastic Surgeon Lectures on Ethnic Rhinoplasty at CSPS Meeting

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 26, 2012) - At the recent Annual Meeting of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS), board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. John Hilinski delivered a presentation that discussed various techniques and approaches to ethnic rhinoplasty. The event, held at the Hotel del Coronado, featured a host of lectures and courses on the latest innovations in nose surgery, as well as other plastic and reconstructive procedure topics. Dr. Hilinski says he is very thankful to have had the opportunity to share his experience in performing rhinoplasty in San Diego and hopes his presentations imparted a new level of skill and knowledge about the complexities of the intricate procedure.

Dr. Hilinski and his San Diego rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery practice also provide services in a number of other aesthetic enhancements such as facelifts, eyelid surgery, and injectable fillers. Having been published in several book chapters and publications in addition to his background as a lecturer, he says being able to help further the field of rhinoplasty by educating his peers is both rewarding and humbling. Dr. Hilinski says his presentation at the CSPS offered those in attendance the opportunity to broaden their skills and techniques in their approach to ethnic rhinoplasty.

During his lecture, Dr. Hilinski and a panel of other surgeons addressed in detail several essential steps in the operation. The discussions covered topics including evaluation of the ethnic patient, secondary rhinoplasty and revising the Asian nose, alar base reconstruction, the "Mestizo" nose, and Persian rhinoplasty. Dr. Hilinski says he hopes doctors who attended his lectures left the presentation with the ability to identify the diagnostic and treatment differences related to ethnic patients as well as examine the technical differences in performing operations for these patient demographics.

Having returned to his practice in San Diego, Dr. Hilinski says he is honored to have taken part in the CSPS meeting and is looking forward to continuing his pursuit of the most effective and successful techniques in nose surgery. Whether they are performing rhinoplasty or eyelid surgery, he says staying abreast of the latest developments in facial plastic surgery is essential for providing patients with safe, aesthetically-pleasing results. Dr. Hilinski adds that he is excited about future opportunities to share his findings with his peers and hopes they are equally rewarding and inspiring.

"Keeping up to date with the latest in surgical techniques forces me to constantly reflect on my current approach to facial plastic surgery and to question whether or not further refinements can be adopted to my current repertoire in the hopes providing an even higher quality of care," he says.
