San Diego Film Festival Names Jon Book, VP, Corporate Sponsorships

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - March 28, 2016) - The San Diego Film Festival announced that Jon Book has been named VP, Corporate Sponsorships, according to Dale Strack, San Diego Film Festival Board Chair.

"As we have grown into a truly international festival, we are pleased to add Jon's global marketing experience and leadership to our corporate sponsorship efforts. Jon's in-depth knowledge of the travel industry is a perfect match for the highly coveted lifestyle demographics the film festival delivers to our sponsors," said Strack.

"Jon has been working with national brands for the past 25 years. His expertise in developing and packaging campaigns for these brands will be invaluable in his new role as VP, Corporate Sponsorships," added Kevin Leap, San Diego Film Festival Board President.

Books experience and focus has been in the digital advertising space with national brands like TripAdvisor where he helped launch the display advertising program for one of the most recognizable brands in the world; Tripit, a highly successful App from Concur, a division of SAP that has opened the door to programmatic advertising and mobile opportunities; and which was developed to capture both the business executive and the recreational demographic with last minute hotel inventory.

Book launched his advertising career in print media sales, as National Sales Manager with Meredith Corporation and the Better Homes and Gardens Wood and Crafts Group. He also managed the San Francisco office for Time Inc.'s Sunset Magazine, the historic lifestyle, food, and travel magazine.

Most recently, Book was a consultant for Guidepoint Global Advisors and served as the Sale Advisor for a performance based travel ad network, Spoutable which is owned by Cursive Labs.
