SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 12, 2008) - On September 13 and 20, 2008, San Francisco Parlor Opera will open its 2008-2009 season with a fundraiser performance that includes Act II of Madama Butterfly and preview performances from their upcoming productions of Cosi Fan Tutte and Faust. Both performances will take place at their new location, 1652 Hayes Street in San Francisco, a Victorian home built circa 1900. For tickets contact the box office at 415.235.9178.

Founded in 2008 by Cole Grissom, Elizabeth O'Neill and Patricia Urbano, San Francisco Parlor Opera is a small opera company based in San Francisco that performs operas in their original language to small audiences in private homes and other intimate settings. SF Parlor Opera is committed to carrying the power and beauty of opera in an immediate environment with the audience as close to the music and drama as possible.

Last Spring, San Francisco Parlor Opera enjoyed a successful run of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the historic Zellerbach mansion, home of San Francisco real estate agent Bonnie Spindler. Each act was staged in a different room of Ms. Spindler's authentic Victorian home. Performances were completely sold out.

Later this Fall, San Francisco Parlor Opera will be mounting a production of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte at their new location. Each act of this two act opera will take place in a different room. In the Spring, San Francisco Parlor Opera will mount a production of Gounod's Faust at the same location, again staging the opera throughout the house.
