San Jose CVB Names Eight New Board Members

Jan Sweetnam, VP of Federal Realty Investment Trust, Appointed 2005-06 Chairman

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 26, 2005 -- The San José Convention and Visitors Bureau (SJCVB) today announced the members of its Board of Directors for FY2005-06. Eight new directors have joined the board, bringing the board member count to 19. The Board, led by a seven-member Executive Committee, helps guide efforts to effectively market San José as a destination for meetings, conventions, and tourism.

Jan Sweetnam, Vice President and Director of Asset Management for Federal Realty Investment Trust, was also appointed chairman of the board. Sweetnam, beginning his second year on the board, served as chair of the Marketing Committee in FY2004-05.

The new board went right to work, attending a board retreat July 8-9, where they began to formulate plans to carry the Bureau forward for the fiscal year, including furthering its ties with Team San José, the public-benefit corporation that operates the San José Convention and Cultural Facilities, including the San José McEnery Convention Center.

"The board will continue to support Team San José as it moves into its sophomore year, strengthening a bond which will help further enhance San José's reputation in today's competitive meetings marketplace," said Sweetnam, the new board chair. "This spirit of teamwork will allow us to further expand San José's brand within the meetings and conventions industry."

The board is currently in the process of filling the two open positions.
